WD Compressor Bearings
Introduction
As the heart of the cooling system, high reliability is the key attribute of compressors.
Furthermore, the bearings for compressors are also required to have the attributes of having a long lifespan, producing low noise, having good oil and heat resistance and being environment-friendly.
WD has developed Cylindrical Roller Bearings, tapered roller bearings, angular contact ball bearings and four point contact ball bearings for diverse applications of compressors, such as single screw compressors, double screw compressors, scroll compressors, etc.

Bearings for compressors
● Cylindrical roller bearings
● Tapered roller bearings
● Angular contact ball bearings
● Four point contact ball bearings
Features of WD compressor bearings
a. Material& heat treatment
● High quality PA12 chrome steel, with higher fatigue resistance, is used. The Ti content is no more than 25ppm and oxygen content is less than 9ppm. Other harmful metal contents are all below industrial standards for bearing materials.
● Bearing components are salt-bath hardened and tempered at 200° C. The compressive residual stress on the components' surfaces can effectively reduce the crack tendency and guarantee fatigue resistance, wear resistance, hardness, toughness, and structural stability of the bearing. Thus, the bearing life can be improved by up to 70 %.
b. Roller&raceway
● Optimized raceway design and logarithmic rollers increase the bearing load rating by 20%.
c. Ribs
● Optimized bearing rib design improves the lubrication condition between rollers and ribs and increases the speed limit of the bearing.
d. Cages
● L-PPS cage is used in special conditions. It has high heat resistance, wear resistance, and chemical stability which does not reduce the strength in an environment with compressor oil, refrigerant oil, nitrogen refrigerant, etc.
● An optimized roller-guided cage design enlarges the bearings' internal space and improves lubrication flow-through and performance.
